Hey penguin family! The week is finally over, and what better way to celebrate than with the Island’s favourite fish-in-a-bun snack, a fishdog. What seems like a tasty party supply at first actually has lots of history on Club Penguin and Club Penguin Island. Today, I’ll be sharing some of the history behind the humble Fishdog, a recipe from classic Club Penguin for how you can make your own, and a shocking secret which could’ve changed the Island forever. Are you ready? Let’s go!
Fishdogs, get your fishdogs!
Throughout classic Club Penguin history, fishdog stands made appearances at parties such as the Music Jam and the Card-Jitsu Party, on the top of Toughest Mountain, at the Stadium in the Summer and even at a far-away trading post during Rockhopper’s Quest. It’s fair to say that fishdog stands have done plenty of travelling around the Club Penguin universe.
However, fishdogs aren’t the only fish-in-a-bun food penguins have ever seen. When puffle digging on classic Club Penguin, your puffle could discover a delicious fish burger to munch on. In fact, it was the favourite food of black puffles – so when you fed it to them, their stats bars instantly filled up to the top. Who knew a gourmet fish burger with an O-Berry on top could cause them to have such a fiery temper?
Now, on Club Penguin Island, we can find fishdogs at their new home: the Foodtrekker. It seems that the recipe has been revised a little since classic Club Penguin too, with the addition of lettuce and tomato. Yum! You can buy one for just 10 coins, and try roleplaying in the kitchen as you serve hungry customers with Fishdog Trays.
Recipe: Make your own Fishdog
Making a fishdog with a cooking kit on Club Penguin Island is pretty cool, but do you want to know what’s even more cool? Making a fishdog in the real world! Back on classic Club Penguin, the team used to share recipes with the community for food you can make yourself at home with the help of a parent or guardian. I took a waddle around the Club Penguin archives and found this recipe for fishdogs you can make at home.
Always ask a parent or guardian for help!

Fish… tacos?! Food… trucker?!
Did you know? Back during the development of Club Penguin Island while the team were deciding what to add to the new Island, the concept of a Fish Taco Truck was explored? I know that’s a lot to take in. Fish tacos instead of fishdogs?! And a truck rather than a trekker?! A Snowtrekker serving fishdogs from a vending machine, rather than going out on important spy missions in DS games, just seems natural to us these days.
I found some really blurry concept art and used some magic to show you what this food truck might’ve been like on the Island. Ghost truck… spooky…
You might even catch a market accidentally talking about a “Fish Dog Truck” as the supplies they sell load in, if you’re super-fast at reading. It’s clear that while this was once going to happen on Club Penguin Island, there was some change in direction which led to us enjoying the fishdogs we have today. I wonder: what would you have preferred? Would you rather have a Fish Taco Truck or a Fishdog Foodtrekker like we have today? Let me know in the comments below!
Is anyone else hungry for a fishdog right now? Have a wonderful weekend, penguin family! Until next time…

Fish tacos? That would have been interesting! Wouldn’t it be cool to have a fish taco truck somewhere on the island? It can be the rival to the Foodtrekker haha!
And thank you for sharing that recipe, maybe me and my family can have fish dogs for supper someday. ;)
Waddle on!
Um no there fish tacos!!! #TacoSquad
*cue my story about having fish tacos on holiday*
Who knew learning about the history of a fishdog can be so interesting!
I’m glad Club Penguin Island went with a fishdog foodtrekker. I think a fish taco truck sounds quite boring and out of place.
This was a great post and I’ll definitely have to try that recipe at some point!
