Can you believe it?! In only a few days, every penguin on Club Penguin Island will have a place to call home – igloos! Today, chief builder, Roary, is taking us behind-the-scenes on construction. Over the past few weeks, Roary and his team have been working hard to create all new furniture and locations for penguins to enjoy in the new 1.8 update. Now, we’re going to see how all of this new content came to life! (if igloos were really made by dinosaurs, of course)

New locations for igloos

Sunny Shores and Wayover Woods locations for igloos

The beautiful Sunny Shores and all-natural Wayover Woods (if you exclude the cardboard cutout mountain) are perfect places for penguins to call home. But landscaping such locations doesn’t come easy.

Having a waterfall in your backyard doesn’t come easy. It took all of Roary’s team to move the waterfall and lazy river from the Cove to Sunny Shores.

That’s right. The construction penguins lifted the entire waterfall and carried it carefully on flipper to these new igloo locations. For fans of water attractions in the Cove – don’t worry. The team re-created the waterfall and lazy river once they were done.

Maybe it would’ve been a better idea to re-create the waterfall and lazy river in Sunny Shores. But it’s too late to go back. Roary will keep this in mind for next time (he won’t).

And in Wayover Woods, trees have been fetched fresh from the Puffle Wilds by Island Central. It’s almost… wait… I mean, completely impossible to cross the border wall between Island Central and the Wilds, but Roary did it.

For penguins concerned about deforestation of the Puffle Wilds, trees have been replaced with robotic versions which look exactly the same. Yay techonology!

Igloo Trams-portation

Have you ever wanted to travel on a tram directly to your home? Yes? No? It doesn’t matter, because you’re getting it anyway! An intricate network of tunnels and tracks ensure you arrive at the right home. This is a significant improvement from the walk-until-you-think-you’re-there transportation method in place previously.

With IceBoost™️ technology from Gary’s Lab installed on every Igloo Tram, you can be certain to have a quick and slippery ride… although beware of crash landings. And I almost forgot to mention the scenic views from the tram-line of… a loading screen. Incredible!

New furniture for sitting in igloos

No longer will penguins have to sit down in the great outdoors of the Island – now seating is available to all penguins in their snow-brick buildings. You can now replicate the magic of hopping onto a chair in a world zone, in your igloo. This news has been met with much delight by sitting enthusiasts of the Island, who have been outraged by the recent Stand-not-Sit Fortnight.

Me love sitting. Me like chair and me like wilds. Classic couch in Wayover Woods perfect.

However, there have been concerns that the presence of seating in igloos will cause a lack of use of the various seats on offer around the Island. Roary and I sat down with Mr Redseat, owner of those red benches by the side of the canal in Island Central which everyone totally uses.

Roary: What are your thoughts on the new seating offered in igloos?

Mr Redseat: It’s an absolute tragedy! I personally polish every single red bench in Island Central on every single world on Club Penguin Island at midnight PST every single day. I can’t believe people would rather sit on a chair they won’t even bother to clean once rather than my perfect red benches!

Dj StoresWill you offer your red seating and polishing services for igloos?

Mr Redseat: My red personal igloo tram with a red chair, also polished daily, is currently in for repair, unfortunately. Therefore, I cannot transport to igloos to deliver and polish my wonderful red furniture. Plus, it’s easier to tell people to sit on my benches in Island Central – and everyone does!

Dj Stores: Yeah… right… good luck with that.

Create any igloo you can imagine

One of the most challenging parts of creating igloos for Roary was ensuring that there’s a variety of furniture for penguins to create anything they can dream of. Volcano in your backyard? You can do that. Dance party by the sea? You can make that happen too. You can unlock new furniture items to buy at Igloos and Interiors at some penguin levels or by buying special items from the Disney Shop!

There’s so much furniture, the owner of Franky’s has become concerned about the potential for an increasing number of pizzerias on the Island with igloos. To help ease his concerns, Roary decided to visit his restaurant in Island Central to find out more.

Unfortunately, the owner of Franky’s was busy going on a music cruise at the time, therefore he left his Spruce Guitar in charge. What could go wrong?

Roary: Why do you think business at Franky’s may decrease due to igloos?

Spruce Guitar: ??????????????????

Roary: Yes, all penguins can have a fridge and oven, but that’s not enough to make a pizzeria.

Spruce Guitar: ??????????????

Roary: Oh, members will be able to create restaurant igloos with better views, music and service than Franky’s?

Spruce Guitar: ???????

Roary: Ah ok, I understand. You’re welcome to make an igloo of your own, Spruce Guitar.

Did you catch any of that? Me neither.

And so much more!

There’s so many opportunities for creativity and expressing your imagination with igloos, and they’re coming in the next update for Club Penguin Island! We’re going to be some of the first penguins to move into Snowy Pine Estates and I can’t wait. This is a massive feature coming to Club Penguin Island, and there’s many more to come.

Roary would like to thank you for taking this behind-the-scenes tour with him to discover how some of the biggest igloos features were created. This post was a lot of fun to write, and I hope you enjoyed it! Thanks for reading, penguin family. Until next time…

Waddle on!
