Happy New Year, penguin family! 2018 is going to be a BIG year for Club Penguin Island and I’m super excited to see what the team have ready for the community. Could this year be the year we finally find out what’s inside the Lighthouse? Or perhaps we might discover an old grey penguin on a tall mountain? Maybe we’ll even sail to new Islands with Rockhopper! The possibilities are limitless.
For a new year, we have new changes
You might’ve noticed The Islanders looks a little bit different today. That’s because I’ve just finished one of my biggest projects of 2017… a new design for The Islanders! From coding the theme to work for all devices to even adding my own unique features, this hasn’t been easy – but I’m now super excited to reveal this new home for all of my posts and more to all of you. I’ve even heard the Newsfeed looks pretty good on a piñata.
This is an ongoing project, which I will continue to add to and improve with your feedback. Right now, while I’ve tested a lot of the features for bugs as much as I can… there might be a few bugs remaining. If you find any or have any suggestions for what could be added next, please let me know! I’ve got lots of plans, and this new design will allow me to incorporate all of them in the way I envision. The Islanders is for the community, and I’m always listening.
A quick bit about safety…
As you might’ve noticed, there’s some areas on The Islanders which now ask you for your birthday before you continue. This is to ensure we’re providing the safest and best experience possible for you. I wanted to let you know that we can never see the date of birth that you enter and it is never sent to any server – it’s used by your computer to help us provide you with the best experience possible.
Oh, and as soon as you’ve entered it, your computer remembers what to show you for next time (but it won’t remember your date of birth – and we can never see it). Right now, some of you might not be able to see certain content on The Islanders. We’re working on new solutions so everyone can enjoy what The Islanders has to offer, and I can’t wait to show you some of them soon.
Any New Year Resolutions?
I know, I know, almost none of us are able to keep them for too long – but it’s still good to set long-term goals to help us make 2018 the best year possible. I’m trying to eat healthier and will be resisting the urge to snack (… it’s tough sometimes…), and I’m going to study effectively so I can be successful in my big exams happening later this year. I’ll be sure to let you know if I’m ever going to stick to those resolutions. Haha.

One of my resolutions is to learn piano. It will be tough teaching myself, but I would love to grasp the basics and possibly even read piano scores!
